New Jerseyans grew up learning of the Jersey devil as school children. The story goes that he was born in the Pine Barrens and has terrorized Jersey towns for over 200 years. In school, we used to have to create art of what we imagined the devil to look like.
Today, the Press of Atlantic City explains it’s offspring may have been located. And just in time for Halloween!

The News Sentinel makes over a local person once a month. Two years ago, I began doing audio slide shows of the makeovers and built the Flash player. I collect my own audio and create the slide shows using News Sentinel photos. This months photos are by News Sentinel photographer Michael Patrick.
On Wednesday, local buyers placed winning bids for several Market Square buildings that were auctioned by the federal government. The properties include Preservation Pub, World Grotto, Oodles Uncorked, a vacant property on the corner of the Square and others.

A video I co-produced and posted in this blog last week won an internal video competition among Scripps news sites Friday. The prize is a complete camera kit that includes a high definition video camera. Since knoxnews.com currently doesn’t have a hi-def camera, I am so excited to have helped win one for us.
